There’s Still Time to Visit the Where the Music Began Exhibition!
The Where the Music Began exhibition is on display at Musikcentralen (Jaakonkatu 39 A) until 31 August. Admission is free, and the exhibition is open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The exhibition tells the story of the rock music history of Pietarsaari, known as the “Liverpool of Finland”. It has been compiled from materials donated by people who contributed to the Jeppis phenomenon, including photographs and newspaper clippings, as well as their memories and personal stories.
On the Spotlight evening on 26 August, Musikcentralen will host a special programme starting at 6 p.m. During the evening, musicians will discuss the development of rock music from the 1990s to the present day. The evening will conclude with a performance by St. Petersaari. The event is free of charge and open to everyone.
The exhibition has been organised in cooperation by the Cultural Services of the Town of Pietarsaari, the Pietarsaari Museum and Wava Institute. The exhibition has been supported by Svenska kulturfonden and the Otto A. Malm Foundation.
