The tobacco museum displays the local tobacco industry 1762–1998. Special-line articles and tobacco machines and a large collection of pipes from around the world.
In 1762 a tobacco industry, which operated in the town until 1998, was founded in Jakobstad. The tobacco factory was the town’s main employer for a long time, and it had a major impact on the development of Jakobstad.
The tobacco museum provides the visitors with information about the history of tobacco, and the museum holds tobacco-related items from all over the world, including articles used for advertising, and tobacco-related machines.
