Town Council 2025–2029
The town council, which is the highest decision-making body in Jakobstad, has 43 members elected in the municipal elections every four years. The town council elects, for example, the town executive, the committees, and management boards and is also responsible for the operations and finances of the municipality.
The town council meets in the Town Hall, Salutorget 1, about eight times a year on Mondays. The meetings are open to the public and can also be seen live on YouTube.
The agenda is published on the town’s website on Wednesday the week before the meeting. The record of decisions will be published on the town’s website about a week after the meeting.
