Daycare year begins with a focus on physical activity

Physical activity has been chosen as the theme for this school year in daycare. By developing activities in a more active direction, daycare centres, together with families, want to lay the foundation for healthy lifestyle habits from an early age.

Daycare has created an annual physical activity plan that includes a variety of activities for children’s groups. In August, a training day focusing on physical activity was organised for staff, and some staff members are currently participating in further training to gain additional inspiration for promoting physical activity in everyday life.

As part of the theme year, activity days were organised for children in daycare and preschool education on 16-17 September. More than 600 children took part. During the days, the children had the opportunity to try a wide range of activities, including dance, football, obstacle courses, traditional games and running. At the same time, they became familiar with the city’s excellent sports facilities.

The theme year has now got off to an active start, and we look forward to a school year filled with movement and physical activity!
