The opening day of Jacob’s Days will once again take place on Sunday, July 19, 2026. An exciting week full of events will begin with Children’s Day in School Park, featuring a variety of performances, puppet theatre, and pony rides, among other activities.

The opening day will also offer plenty of sports and competitions. Highlights include a rabbit show jumping competition at the Pursisalmi field and a bench press competition at MTFit. In addition, FF Jaro will face FC Inter at Project Liv Arena.

The day will culminate in the official opening ceremony of Jacob’s Days in School Park, where the traditional crowning of the year’s Lazy Jacob will take place.
