Updates to the Virhi Fault Reporting Service
Have you already familiarized yourself with the Town of Jakobstad’s updated fault reporting service, Virhi?
With the new update, the service’s usability and appearance have been improved, for example by adding clearer instructions for submitting a report and by displaying the person responsible for handling the case to the user. In addition, the new timeline feature now allows users to follow the progress of fault repairs.
Through the service, you can report deficiencies or faults related to, for example, the town’s street lighting, roads and sidewalks, sports and outdoor areas, public buildings, or park and green areas. The service can also be used to report vandalism as well as damage caused by flooding or storms. In the service, you can mark the problem location on a map and attach a description and an image of the issue. The map is based on the National Land Survey’s map data and is available in Swedish, Finnish, and English.
Virhi forwards fault reports to the city’s responsible personnel, who acknowledge receipt. The completion of repairs is also recorded in the Virhi service. In the service, you can see reports submitted by others, so the same issue does not need to be reported again. The Virhi service can be used on a phone, tablet, or computer. No login is required.
How to submit a report:
1. Click the plus icon in the bottom-right corner of the map.
2. Select “Go to my location” or move the cursor to the correct location on the map.
3. Select “Report an issue here.”
4. Choose the type of issue and write a short description. (Note! An email address must be provided so that you can receive updates on actions taken. The email address will not be published on the site.) Attaching an image may help with handling the matter.
5. Accept and submit. Thank you for your report!
