The Jakobstad region strengthens its role in European climate efforts with iCEAR

The Jakobstad region has received its first Interreg Europe project called Integrated Circular Economy Action plans for Rural areas, or simply iCEAR. The project, which will run until July 31, 2029, aims to improve the regional policies fostering circular economy in rural areas. In the Jakobstad Region the focus is going to be on the joint regional climate strategy “Klimatsmarta tillsammans / Ilmastotietoisia yhdessä”.

The regional climate action steering group held a meeting at the end of August to be updated on iCEAR and the first partner meeting, which took place in June in Giessen, Germany. This group of experts will function as the Regional Stakeholder Group for the iCEAR-project.
