THE DRINKING WATER FROM JAKOBSTADS VATTEN SHOULD BE BOILED

Jakobstads Vatten supplies the city of Jakobstad with domestic water. A small amount of Jakobstads Vatten’s water has also been delivered to Vikarholmen and Furuholmen in Larsmo.

In the follow-up samples (12 samples) taken on 24.4.2024, no coliforms or E.coli were detected. Results for enterococci for these samples will be available in the afternoon of Friday 26.4.2024.

All drinking water and water used for cooking should be boiled for

5 minutes.

The water company will initiate more effective chlorination of the domestic water and there will be a stronger smell of chlorine than usual. Chlorine kills harmful microbes. The chlorine in the water does not cause health problems, it ensures the microbiological quality of domestic water.
